
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu has cut the sod for for the construction of a multi-purpose sports complex at New Fadama in Accra.
The project, which is part of government’s Zongo development agenda under the Ministry of Inner-Cities and Zongo Development, will be named after the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu.
Present at the sod-cutting ceremony was the Minister for Inner-Cities and Zongo Development, Dr Mustapha Abdul Hamid, who had earlier paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam to thank the National Chief Imam for his continuous prayers for him and the government.

The Minister further shared his vision for the Ministry to the Chief Imam, revealing that his primary focus is on the development of human resource base of Inner-Cities and Zongos.
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Sharubutu thanked and prayed for the Akufo-Addo government, as well as for Dr. Abdul-Hamid to be successful in his new responsibility as Inner-Cities and Zongo Development Minister.
Also present at the ceremony were Chiefs from the National Council of Muslim Chiefs, the Member of Parliament for Okaikoi Central Hon Patrick Boamah, Founder of Nasara Club Alhaji Fuseini Maiga, National Nasara Coordinator of NPP Abdul Aziz Futa, Gt. Accra Regional Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Kamil and his deputy.
The Minister was accompanied by officials of the Ministry led by the Chief Director, Mrs. Gifty Mahama Biyira.
